CBO News :: CAT (Calling All Talent) in Education
PRODUCTION :: PROMOTION :: PERFORMANCE
CAT in Education clinics involve subject matter not found in textbooks. Although theory and harmony, the foundation of music, gives every musician a “leg up” there are many more elements to add to the trick bag that will arm young talent with new skills to engage and rock the audience.
Centuries ago, when the scholars set out to universalize the language of music, they could not have conceived of all the ancient rhythms that had been created by the great tribes of Africa and the Indian Nations. These complex cadences were handed down, not notated, through generations and are prevalent in what has become jazz, rock n roll, rhythm and blues, blue grass, hip-hop and other forms of modern music.
CAT in Education is a series of clinics developed by professional artists who are passionate about handing down unique skills and techniques to new artists who want to learn more about music and how to perform it.
As well as these art forms CAT in Education offers methods on how to promote and network; also not found in a the typical curriculum. This knowledge is valuable in all aspects of life.
