CAT - Calling All Talent!
January 2nd, 2007

Happy New Year, Groove-ster's!

We regret, Bogart's and CBO collectively had to make the call to cancel the Big Reveal on New Years Eve. Months of planning and rehearsing went into that show, and to have Mother Nature step in, in all her glory, was a bit earth shattering. At the same time, there is some comfort in knowing we are not really running the show (opportunity pun). Nonetheless, it was a major inconvenience for some of you, and we apologize for that, but please know it was completely out of our hands. No decisions were made in haste. We are working on something special for you so you still get the Full Monty.

Now, as far as letting the CAT out of the bag. Let us start by saying the process of working on Calling All Talent went beyond our wildest expectations. All three CATS: Cookie Butterlove, Fred Flowerday and Terry Town, possessed the character and guts to make it through this challenging ordeal. They are amazing artists. The CAT process is one of pulling talent out of the woodwork and into the spotlight. Now they are networked into the scene and will soon have the necessary promotional materials to bust down doors.

While working on this project we also discovered a philanthropic calling. One of my goals as CEO of MJM PRO, Inc. is to expand my company through development and promotion of up-and-coming artists. Advancing them from head to toe, with contacts through dance, comedy, music, technology and all other aspects of performance arts. I am currently assembling my team and reaching out to build some muscle.

CAT (Calling All Talent) is designed as a vehicle to get through to those who possess great talent. Giving hope, purpose and a sense of direction. It will also hone the skills of those who have the means and the potential to hit. One can have tremendous abilities, but without the knowledge to put it all together, the talent will go unnoticed. This project may be used as an instrument to get schools and communities to work together as well. There are no limitations.

Like I said, when we initiated this venture we had no idea where it would take us, but now we are beginning to realize, and it is awesome. Rich Lake, who is the reason this all started, began working with me on this concept. As well as being a huge talent, Rich is a very astute businessman. The more we unearthed, the clearer it became that he and I would need to team up in order to give this traction.

Then the votes started pouring in. It was amazing to watch. Thank you for your enthusiasm. The most eye-opening part was that Richie wasn’t a contestant, and yet you all made it very clear you did not want him to leave so you kept voting for him. He didn’t want to leave either. CBO has a “no substitute” rule for band members, unless that sub is someone like Rich Farris, (former member and super bad player, who also received votes) and by some miracle can now cover for Richie. Why ask why?

So it is time to let the CAT out of the bag...and that CAT is Rich Lake! In order for CBO, MJM PRO, Inc. and CAT to continue to grow in this new direction we decided the band should stay intact.

This decision was made by us, with your assistance. We asked for your help and opinion and we got it. Thank you.

Thank you to all of the judges for your excellent feedback and support. Words cannot explain how grateful we are for the outstanding insights you shared.

Thank you to Heartbeat Dance Studios and your over the top Hip-Hop and Tap artists. Groove-ster’s, you have not seen the last of these people.

Thank you to Actor/Comedian and dear friend, Stevie Ray and his Improver’s. Stevie is another gifted artist with incredible business acumen. He’s a big part of my new team.

Thank you to all the CAT’s. We respect your talent and drive and hope we will work together in some capacity.

Thank you Groove-ster’s for getting on board. You are the reason we get to do what we do.

Here’s to 2007. The band remains the same but the spirit of things has definitely changed.

Peace,
Melanie and CBO
