Phillip D. Holm: Trumpet, Backing Vocals, Arranger Trumpeter Phil Holm is beginning his fourteenth year as lead trumpet in the Casablanca Orchestra (CBO). Phil has performed in numerous ensembles in the Twin Cities including The Minnesota Vikings band, The Wolverines Classic Jazz Orchestra, North Stars Power Players, Bozo Allegro, Cedar Avenue Big Band and Latin Sounds Orchestra just to name a few. He has also toured with Troupe America featured as "Biff Baker" in the national Tour of the Broadway hit 1940's Radio hour, as well as performing with National recording artists The Temptations, Bobby Vinton and Roger Williams. Phil graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. Holm has taught Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, Honor Band and more at Southview Middle School in Edina and across the State of Minnesota for over 18 years. He currently is Director of Jazz two for Minnesota Youth Jazz Bands. MYJB in only its second year, has three dynamic Jazz Ensembles and is comprised of the best young up and coming jazz players in the Twin Cities area. Respected and valued by some as an enthusiastic educator and first-rate Clinician, Phil makes time regularly for conducting trumpet clinics and teaching at the University of Eau Claire Jazz festival and the Award winning Bernie Edstrom Jazz Camp. Phil has been fortunate enough to hitch his little red wagon to his beautiful wife Kathleen Mulrooney. Together they have four girls Natasha, Francesca, Gabriella and Sophia ages 7 and under. His favorite quotes are "It aint' no fun, if it Aint' no fun", "Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away."
