Steven Anthony Paoli: Drums, Lead & Backing Vocals

CBO’s keeper of the beat since 1994, Steve’s philosophy on drums is simple. Play them. All serious-ness aside, the guy really takes his job to the next level on a nightly basis. Not only is he the QB of this team, calling out songs as if they were plays fresh from the huddle, he also sings the occasional lead and many background vocals during the course of the night’s action. Steve knows it’s his gig to drive the bus, keep the ship stable, and rock the house, with all of it’s contents (you people!) from downbeat to closing time. A lifelong fan of Da Bears and BlackHawks, Steve borrows from his musical Chicago roots in every aspect of CBO’s repetoire. From Rock to Swing and from Funk to Country, he is asked to carry the goods from generation to gyration and back again. Thankfully, it’s tricks of the trade he learned in his early years, growing up with the likes of, Survivor, The Buckingham’s, Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, and, of course, Chicago, always playing within a thin crust pizza of his childhood home. During his 30-plus years, he has shared the stage with: Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult, Pat Travers, Ted Nugent, and The Romantics. Steve’s latest project is his PaoliAllStarHouseBand which performs in his basement and consists of Allison, (vocals), Marcus,(keyboards/drums/vocals), and Maggie Rose (keyboards/vocals/noisy things in the kitchen) aka Steve & Ann’s children.
